Programs

The PTA hosts many programs for our IVE community and we are working to be creative to modify programs where possible in our new virtual environment. You can find a short description for each program here, chair contact information and a link to a detailed page for those programs happening in the next 60 days. Also, subscribe to our calendar to keep up to date.

Art Docent Program
art@ivepta.org

The Art Docent Program is volunteer led art instruction. Docents teach approximately eight lessons a year in grades K-5. We are currently exploring potential opportunities to support art education during remote learning. For more information, visit www.ivepta.org/art

Book Fairs
bookfair@ivepta.org

Our Scholastic book fairs in the fall and spring given students, fames and staff the opportunity to add to their at-home and classroom libraries. The PTA also raises Scholastic Dollars used to fund Staff Book Grants and giveaways at PTA events. Keep an eye out for a virtual book fair in fall 2020!

Dads and Dudes of IVE (DIVE)
dive@ivepta.org

A group of parents and community members committed to meeting the needs of our students and community by serving as positive male role models on campus. DIVE typically volunteers monthly at recess but is currently on hold during remote learning.

Engineering Night
engineer@ivepta.org

Believe it or not, you may already be an engineer! Bring the family to Zoom for a hands-on night from the comfort of your home and explore who engineers are and what they do. We will meet some of the IVE community's engineers and try our hands at our own engineering challenge.

Enrichment Programs
enrichment@ivepta.org

The Enrichment programs at IVE foster environment of community while opening new diverse opportunities to broaden perspectives through further learning for our children.

We have decided as a PTA Board to take a pause on all enrichment classes for the first trimester, since none of them can take place physically at IVE (per ISD COVID guidelines limiting access to school buildings), coupled with the fact that families are going to be so busy getting used to online school during the fall. However, many vendors are offering virtual classes in the broader community. See more information HERE.

Family Ambassadors
face@ivepta.org

A group of volunteers dedicated to welcoming new families to Issaquah Valley Elementary and help ease their transition into a new school.

Gardening Program
garden@ivepta.org

Growing Great Gardeners is a PTA sponsored enrichment program designed specifically for first grade students. Children learn about plants and the importance of nutrition while practicing simple gardening techniques using sustainable methods. This program typically begins in February so keep your fingers crossed for in person options or check back to see if we are able to modify for our virtual learning environment.

Holiday Choir
holidaychoir@ivepta.org

K-2nd grade students who enjoy singing both secular and religious songs are invited to participate. Our goal is to have fun sharing this time of year with friends and fill hearts with happiness and joy. No experience necessary, just bring your smile and be ready to sing! Check back here to see how we can make this fun event happen in a virtual world!

Math Adventures
mathadventures@ivepta.org

Math Adventure is a non-competitive math program to help kids build a positive emotional connection to math that starts in elementary school and lasts a lifetime. Math Adventure is a night of fun for kids where they work in teams to problem solve, do math, and have fun. No special math skills are required as it is based on the common core standards kids are already learning at school.

Multicultural Fair
multicultural@ivepta.org

The IVE Multicultural Fair is an every-other-year family event filled with fun and multicultural entertainment. It is a wonderful way to connect with other IVE families, and to experience our rich diversity.

Reflections Art Contest
reflections@ivepta.org

Reflections is an art contest put on by National and Washington State PTA. This year IVE students can submit an original work of art supporting the theme "I Matter Because..." in any of the following six categories: literature, music composition, photography, visual arts, film/video, and choreography/dance. Find more information including how to submit and deadlines here.

Science Fair
sciencefair@ivepta.org

The Science Fair is offered and designed for students to have fun with science.  By conducting an experiment, students learn important observational skills as well as the scientific method. It's an opportunity for students to increase their awareness of science, apply their creative thinking skills and have fun! We are currently exploring at-home options for this event. Stay tuned!

Spelling Bee
spellingbee@ivepta.org

Are you a very good speler, er, speller? TIVE is hosting our very own Spelling Bee! Registration is open to any IVE 2nd - 5th grade student.

Trunk or Treat
fallevent@ivepta.org

Our traditional event is on hold for fall 2020 but we are hoping for a fun virtual option. Check back soon! Typically at this event, students and families dress up and enjoy safe trunk-or-treating in the IVE parking lot. Trunkers are volunteers who creatively decorate their car trunk & themselves, and act as treat givers to lots of kids!
