Each year, National PTA's Reflections art competition program engages over 300,000 students and families by encouraging students to explore their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program and competition that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school but in life.

Get your IVE artist working on their next masterpiece!  Entries are due October 25, 2023.  Your student’s art will be on display at the IVE PTA’s Family Art Night on November 15, 2023!

There are six categories of art accepted for the Reflections competition.  Each student may submit up to one entry per category. 

• Literature: works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
• Music Composition: original musical composition, with or without words.
• Photography: color or black and white, included techniques: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure.
• Visual Arts:  architecture (2D/3D), carpentry, ceramics, collages, photographic collages (multiple photos cut/pasted), computer-generated image, crafts, design, dioramas, drawing, fiberwork, jewelry, kites, metal etching/punch work, mobiles, painting, printmaking, sculpture and wind chimes. Please review submission requirements if you are creating a 3D piece of art. 
• Film/Video: original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
• Choreography/Dance: originally choreographed dance composition. 

Submission Instructions:

1. Visit https://www.wastatepta.org/events-programs/reflections/ to learn more about the art categories and associated rules under the section "Student Entry Rules." Please review the student entry packet (link to pdf) for how to enter. 
2. If you are submitting physical artwork, please bring it to school on October 25, 2023. We will be collecting it at the front office before school starts.
3. If you are submitting electronic entries (film/video, choreography/dance), please load them on a USB drive and drop them off on October 25, 2023 at the front office.
4. All participants need to submit a signed entry form. Please use the pre-populated student entry packet for IVE. Hard copies of the entry form are available on the PTA shelf near the front office. Click here for the entry form!

Reflections es un programa y competencia de reconocimiento artístico de la PTA Nacional que ayuda a los estudiantes a explorar sus propios pensamientos, sentimientos e ideas, desarrollar conocimientos artísticos, aumentar la confianza y encontrar el amor por el aprendizaje que los ayudará a tener más éxito no solo en la escuela sino también en la vida.

¡Haz que tu joven artista de IVE trabaje en su próxima obra maestra! Las inscripciones vencen el 25 de octubre de 2023. ¡El arte de su estudiante se exhibirá en la Noche de Arte Familiar de la PTA de IVE el 15 de noviembre de 2023!

• Literatura: obras de ficción, no ficción, poesía, prosa, teatro, cuentos y letras.
• Composicion musical: composición musical original, con o sin letra.
• Fotografia: color o blanco y negro, técnicas incluidas: fotograma, sándwich de negativos y exposición múltiple.

• Artes visuales: dibujo, pintura al temple, óleo, acrílico, acuarela y pinturas para camisetas, arte generado por computadora, collage bidimensional, grabado, costura y herramientas para cuero.
• Pelicula/Video: obras originales, con o sin sonido, de animación, narrativa, documental, experimental o video/película musical.
• Coreografia/Danza: composición de danza originalmente coreografiada.

Instrucciones: 

1. Visite https://www.wastatepta.org/events-programs/reflections/ en la sección "Reglas de ingreso para estudiantes" para obtener más información sobre las categorías de arte y las reglas asociadas. Por favor revise el paquete del estudiante para saber cómo ingresar (link to spanish pdf). 
2. Si inscribe alguna obra de arte de forma física, tráigalas a la escuela el 25 de octubre de 2023. Las estaremos recolectando en la oficina principal antes de que comiencen las clases. 
3. Si esta inscribiendo formatos electrónicos (película/video, coreografía/danza), por favor, cárguelas en una unidad USB y entréguelas el 25 de octubre de 2023 en la oficina principal. 
4. Todos los participantes deben enviar el formulario de inscripción firmado. Utilice el paquete de inscripción previamente completado para IVE. Copias impresas del formulario de inscripción están disponibles en el estante de la PTA cerca de la oficina principal. Haga clic aquí para completar el formulario de registro!
