A Letter from our PTA Presidents:
Sandy Torrey and Cheryl Canning
Wow, can you believe that we’re less then 2 months away from the end of the school year? Where did the time go? The end of school may be coming fast but the PTA still has a couple of busy months ahead.
First let us say “thank you” to Kim Nardi and Lynne Kunitz who did a fabulous job organizing our Science Fair this year. The event was a huge success. The students had plenty of fun putting together all the various presentations. Thank you also to all the parents and teachers who helped in setting up, evaluating, and clean up. We couldn’t do it without all of you.
The Eager Reader program concluded in April so a huge “thank you” to Onti Rosen and her cast of helpers who kept this program rolling throughout the year. The final book award went to all those that reached their grade goal. Congratulations! Don’t forget to keep up the terrific reading throughout the summer.
By now we made it through another year of WASL testing and what perfect event should follow but Teacher Appreciation Week. PTA has plenty of activities planned from May 7 through May 11 to show our appreciation to the great IVE teachers and school staff. There is always plenty to do so if you still are available to help, please contact Kristen Allen-Bentsen.
Our last fundraiser of the year is coming up on Friday, May 18 th. Are you ready for the Walk-a-thon? Our school goal is to raise $25,000. These funds will help fund the computer lab, library, science and docent programs, field trips, and to supply classroom materials.
Congratulations to the new PTA Executive Board members who were voted in for next year. We’re passing our duties on to an incredible group. Can’t wait to see what great events get planned for next year. And don’t forget, our next PTA meeting will be Tuesday, May 15 th at 6:30 in the library. Hope to see everyone there.
Sandy and Cheryl
