Congratulations to Tola Marts!
IVE PTA sends warm congratulations to our very own Tola Marts! In addition to being an IVE parent, an IVE PTA board member, and co-chair of Volunteers for Issaquah Schools (VIS), Tola was recently unanimously elected to be President of the Issaquah City Council! Tola has been on the city council since January 2010 and will now be leading the board in the coming exciting year. We're not sure when Tola is actually going to sleep, but we're very proud of him just the same! Multicultural Fair The 5th Annual IVE Multicultural Fair was cancelled due to the storm. And, it can't be rescheduled due to conflicts with other events. Big THANK-YOU goes to everyone who involved in planning and offered sharing a culture or a personal story! It shows what a wonderful community we have -- so many enthusiastic people are willing to help and to share valuable life experience! We really appreciate all the encouragement and support from parents and teachers and staff members. Our efforts are not wasted -- some kids got to know better of their own heritage and shared it in classroom, some families got to know each other better by preparing together to present a culture. Some of the personal stories will be shown in IVE Newscast in the coming weeks. Found treasures won't get lost -- you will see them next year! Thank you all!
NEW - Join Us for a Family Engineering
Night at IVE
"Family Engineering" is a Friday
night IVE PTA event scheduled
for February
3, 2012 for 7 -12 year olds
and their families. This new event offers
FUN activities meant to encourage kids and a
supportive adult to learn more about
engineering. Research has shown that early
exposure to engineering in this type of
format to be very helpful in later years
during career decision making. This event
will have Spanish translation. Free
admission for IVE families. Please
make sure to register early because space is
limited to the first 100 people. This
event is supported through an IVE PTA grant. Registration
form available on IVE PTA website
