PTA Board Nominations
In accordance with Washington State PTA regulations, the IVE PTA will elect to its Board the positions of Secretary and V.P. Communications, both of whom will assume office July 1, 2011. The President and Treasurer positions will be elected April 19, 2011 for a term of one year, and the elected officials cannot serve more than two consecutive years in that role. A person may nominate his/herself, or someone from the school community (administration, faculty or parent) may nominate a candidate.
The nominating committee is responsible for managing the election process, from establishing the timeline and communicating the position criteria to delivering the final ballot at the April 20 PTA General Session. This year's nominating committee is Elsa Fleck ( elsa@flexgames.com) , Natalie Hancock (natbird711@comcast.net), Anne Livingston (Anne.m.livingston@bc.edu), and Rachel Stoner (rwstoner@comcast.net), any of whom can be contacted with questions.

Call for Nominations
Nominations will be accepted from the school community through February 18, 2011. As noted, a person may nominate his/herself or a member of the general school community may submit a person for consideration. All possible nominees will be contacted by the nominating committee to insure understanding of the role and determine final interest level.
A nomination form can be printed here or can be picked up in the PTA area of the main IVE hallway (near the front office). Completed submissions can be dropped into a box in the same main IVE hallway or submitted via e-mail.
Characteristics of Nominees
Important characteristics for either office: PTA member as of April 19 vote; committed to the school and a leadership role; approachable and able to work with the principal, faculty, other Board members and parents; positive community role model; team player. See job descriptions links below.
Elections
Elections will take place during the April 19 PTA General Session. A list of nominees will be shared at the meeting, and a final call for candidates will be announced at that time (with new nominees immediately added to the ballot).
